Everyone was mingling and there were ping pong tables and games around the whole venue that you could play with friends. I think typically for a non-event you rent the tables by the hour. The staff working there had these awesome “pool skimmer” looking sticks that scooped up all the stray balls so that they wouldn’t get crushed or lost, and there were baskets full of them everywhere! Nifty. There were a bunch of people from Sephora stores all around the Bay, and everyone looked like a 10!! Everyone I talked to was super friendly and fun, and I can’t help but be jealous of the team that gets to just talk about my biggest passion, beauty, day in and day out as a career!
We did get the chance to talk with Sunday Riley herself, who was friendly and glowing! She even did the realistic girl move of letting us take multiple pictures until we were satisfied, lollll … The real star of the show, for me, was Jennifer, who is an education specialist for the brand. She was so enthusiastic and informative, allowing me to really see the passion she had about the brand and why she stands by the products. I got to chat with this #girlboss for a while, and hear about her journey to this position with Sunday Riley. What stood out to me was how she pursued this job by reaching out to Sunday and offering up what she could bring to the brand she loves, her experience and why she was the perfect fit for their team. So thanks Jennifer, for all your career advice and especially all your tips and information about Sunday Riley products. For someone who was new to the brand, your facts and information really helped.
So now on to talking about the products!!! I have extremely dry skin, at all times of the year. That night even, my nose was scaly AF and I was super self concious of it. The star product of the night, the C.E.O. Moisturizer , is by far one of the most amazing moisturizers I have used to date. It’s super thick feeling to the touch, but once you rub it into the skin, it’s lightweight and breathable (if butter could be such a thing!). The scent is to die for too, it’s a lovely orangey-clementiney-vanillay smell, hence the advanced vitamin C, and it is not too overpowering. I honestly couldn’t see anyone not liking this scent. I don’t have a consistent routine for this but I use it both in the morning and night, either or, and I’m already noticing a more supple, glowy and hydrated look to my face.
Something really cool about Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream, (notice a trend here? BRIGHTENING ERRTHANG) is that it can be tapped on over your makeup without affecting the appearance, and help hydrate during the day when you need a refresh. It’s a really lightweight, gelly type formula, that I could see being beneficial to all skin types. I usually use this before bed, layered with Luna Sleeping Night Oil, which is a gorgeous, silky blue facial oil, that I especially layer up under my eyes and around my nose, where I’m driest. All of these products are also free of Parabens, Sulfates and Phthalates. As a final thought… I will most definitely be repurchasing Sunday Riley products, they work amazing and the company is lead by inspiring women.
*All opinions in this post are my own. This post is not sponsored in any way, but I did receive these products free of charge. A special thanks to my wonderful friend Bana, a specialist for Sephora, for inviting me to this experience!
