A lot of us are always on the run, and often there doesn’t seem to be much time in the day to squeeze in socializing on top of your career. But a good work-life balance and socialization is critical to your success and happiness as a #bossgirl, trust me! I am the queen of making plans and then the day of, feeling like, “ugh, I’d rather just go home and get in my pj’s and drink wine than go out.” And trust me, there are days when I do that. But when I stick to my commitments and attend social events, I always end up happy I did. Here are some quick tips to take your day look to night out in mere minutes, if you don’t have time to go home and get ready!
Tip One: Have a “prep” bag with whatever you need to do your outfit transformation ready in your car or in your office. This can include makeup, jewelry, shoe change, bag change, top or jacket swap. It doesn’t have to be complicated, just have the essentials ready to go!
For work: White Blazer is from H&M (find similar here)
Black Tuxedo Pants are Tory Burch (find similar here)
Chiffon Blouse is from Loft (find similar here)
Heels are Merona for Target (find similar here)
Tip Two: Keep your look semi-natural for the office. A bold winged liner should pair with a nude lip, and you don’t necessarily have to contour the shit out of your face for 9-5. If you have a more creative work environment, then I’m jealous, go all out! It’s easy to take your day look to a night out after work, buy adding some eyeliner to smoke it out, or a brighter lipstick to add some flare.I’m over here at Jack London Square, check out some great spots here!
Tip Three: Quick swaps can make your look go from business bitch to cocktail queen in mere minutes. Swap your conservative heels for some strappy ones and ditch the work-tote for a cute crossbody. You can scoop your hair into a loose up-do for a sexy/effortless look.
Lips are Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Drench Lip Splash Lipstick in Hey Sailor!
Lashes are Ardell Demi Wispies
As you can see, I’m rocking the same pants and essentially the same makeup, but just swapping the blazer for a duster and a more dance-friendly bag makes all the difference. It really helps you stick to your commitments and make the most of your time and social life when you have less work and stress thinking about your appearance!
