Ahh rosé. The perfect summertime wine. Actually, anytime wine. I am not picky, at all, when it comes to wine. There are a few real shitters I won’t touch (you know that bottom shelf bottle line up, we all do) – but I also am not going to spend 100$ on a bottle to drink every night (or day). [Read more…]
I freaking love guacamole. I can remember a time when it was irrelevant, almost non-existent. WHAT WAS LIFE? It’s a yummy, versatile snack and can even satisfy my spice addiction most of the time (although I should make myself a separate batch with more peppers and spice as to not burn the esophagus of innocent consumers.) If you aren’t a guac-connoisseur, fear not; this is a super simple recipe with a rewarding delicious pay off. Tip: use fancier bowls and settings for dinner parties and photos – I am just too lazy or amateur. Keep reading for the recipe! [Read more…]
I don’t know if it was the baby bottles of wine that sucked me in, or the idea of getting bottles delivered to my doorstep without having to take off my comfy clothes (currently an old tattered pair of gray Juicy Couture sweats and my boyfriend’s Harborside t-shirt). But here we are. I saw Tasting Room first through another amazing girl Shannon @ Champagneatshannons and knew I had to try it for myself! [Read more…]
As I get older, there is seriously nothing better than having drinks (and a cheese platter) with your friends and/or S.O. I love to relax with a nice glass of wine (or a cheap glass, seriously I am not picky) and read at night, scroll through my favorite blogs, or watch a movie with my pup and my man. Typically, wine is my go-to. But I can’t deny a deliciously concocted drink when available. I do have to admire the craftsmanship and detail that goes into all these gorgeous cocktails, especially here in the Bay Area, but let’s be real. $15 a drink on average for some egg whites and a flower frozen in an ice cube gets kinda tired after a while. So why not buy more, make more… more drunky, less money. Kidding, kind of.
So it’s President’s Day! After must deliberation (we were exhausted from battling the storm driving home from Tahoe) and coming across some places closed or out of our range of willingness to drive, we settled upon the Montclair Egg Shop. I called to make sure they were open, which the hostess (a bit aggressively, lol, informed me YES indeed they are, and they always update their facebook and website with their hours for holidays, etc. Okay, good to know!) We arrived to quite a line, even at 1pm on a Monday, but we put out name on the list and waited it out in the rain. I don’t actually mind the rain, especially since my bag and coat were essentially water-proof! We had fun walking around the town a bit in the drizzle, and I was teaching Cory some functions of my camera. I use a Sony a5000. [Read more…]
So clearly, I’m not a food photographer or a nutritionist or a fitness trainer or a chef. But I do know what works for me, and what I like to eat, while trying to stay (semi)conscious of what I put into my body. Last year, my amazing and motivating friend Heather helped me (long distance, NY to CA!) to create a meal plan, a set amount of macros for my personal goals and body type, and gave me a basic outline of workout plans and tips to get myself in shape! Anyway, I looked and felt the best I have in forever when sticking to that regime, so I am trying to get back onto the grind again.
