So it’s President’s Day! After must deliberation (we were exhausted from battling the storm driving home from Tahoe) and coming across some places closed or out of our range of willingness to drive, we settled upon the Montclair Egg Shop. I called to make sure they were open, which the hostess (a bit aggressively, lol, informed me YES indeed they are, and they always update their facebook and website with their hours for holidays, etc. Okay, good to know!) We arrived to quite a line, even at 1pm on a Monday, but we put out name on the list and waited it out in the rain. I don’t actually mind the rain, especially since my bag and coat were essentially water-proof! So clearly, I’m not a food photographer or a nutritionist or a fitness trainer or a chef. But I do know what works for me, and what I like to eat, while trying to stay (semi)conscious of what I put into my body. Last year, my amazing and motivating friend Heather helped me (long distance, NY to CA!) to create a meal plan, a set amount of macros for my personal goals and body type, and gave me a basic outline of workout plans and tips to get myself in shape! Anyway, I looked and felt the best I have in forever when sticking to that regime, so I am trying to get back onto the grind again.
I don’t know if it’s a new thing for me, but suddenly I’m all about masks. I don’t think it is new.. it’s a women’s tradition, sleepovers, girls nights, pampering for a big day. I can remember being little and doing the Queen Helene Mint Julep mask with my mom and sister, letting it burn up on my skin and splash it off, feeling all fresh and tight-skinned. Wait… do you love the name of this series, or do you love the name of this series?? I had a flippin’ lightbulb, Bay-Appetit, Bon-Appetit… get it?? I thought it was genius, haha. My idea for these reviews and recommendations comes from my own personal struggle of finding the best spots for grub when I first moved to California.
